Video: Gunshot back-spatter part two

As part of her research University of Otago masters student Gemma Radford filmed a bullet being shot at a silicone and resin model of a pig's head.

Despite blood-spatter analysis often being key evidence in a crime scene, a model that re-creates back-spatter is yet to be created. Back-spatter is blood and tissue that came from the entry wound of a bullet, moving back towards the shooter.
