What's this cover-up at the town hall?

Brightly coloured tarpaulins cover the roof of the Dunedin Town Hall to protect the building's interior against the arrival of the bad weather.

Dunedin City Council city property manager Robert Clark said the tarpaulins were to keep out rain while workers added a new plant room and equipment on the town hall roof.

Scaffolding on the roof provided access while work continued, and the tarpaulins would be used when weather dictated until the building was weathertight, Mr Clark said.
