Jasmine Knowles (year 13, St Hilda's Collegiate School) was named top scholarship pupil in visual arts (painting) in 2010 for her portfolio featuring works using extinct bird species as a metaphor for how New Zealand has been classified as an idealised country. She was interested in how museums classify and display their contents, and examined the concepts of the artificial versus the real.
