Artworks by three former Otago secondary school art pupils have been selected for exhibition in a nationwide tour.
A painting by former Taieri College pupil Kelly van der Hurk, and photographs by former Wakatipu High School pupil Sophie Lemaire-Sicre and former St Hilda's Collegiate pupil Meg Rutherford will appear in the New Zealand Qualifications Authority's 2015 Top Art Exhibition.
The annual exhibition features a selection of the NCEA level 3 portfolios that achieved excellence endorsements in design, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture.
Top Art provides an opportunity for secondary pupils and teachers to gain an understanding of what is required to achieve excellence at level 3, and also allows members of the public to see the high-quality art being created in schools.
The artworks are exhibited in two separate tours - one of the North Island, and one of the South Island.
The Otago trio's works will be in the South Island tour, which will be exhibited at Waitaki Girls' High School, Oamaru (July 27-31), Wakatipu High School, Queenstown (August 3-7), Southland Museum and Art Gallery, Invercargill (August 10-14), Dunedin School of Art Gallery (August 17-21), and Blue Mountain College, Tapanui (August 24-28).
