Speculation is mounting that Beyonce and Jay-Z will soon announce tour dates in New Zealand.

The talented couple announced their On the Run II stadium tour earlier this year but only had dates in the UK, Europe, the US and Canada.

Now however, there are reports the pair will head to Australia this summer.

According to the The Herald Sun's sources: "A deal is locked in and the pair will head to Australia over summer after the Europe and American leg of the tour is complete."

If that's the case, chances of them adding New Zealand tour dates to that trip down under are pretty high, as is often the case with touring artists.

Most recently, rap sensation Kendrick Lamar announced three New Zealand dates, including one at Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin, off the back of his trip to Australia, where he's headlining the Splendour in the Grass festival.

The "On the Run II" tour is a reprise of the couple's joint 2014 six-week "On the Run" tour which was filmed for an HBO special.

It follows hit releases from both artists - Beyonce's Lemonade and Jay-Z's 4:44 - and Beyonce's stunning Coachella performances which many have gone so far as to call the best live show ever.
