A 9-year-old boy has died following an accident on a motorised go-kart in the Far North this afternoon.
Police said emergency services were called to the beach at Ahipara about 5pm, after the go-kart the boy was driving rolled over.
The boy died at the scene before an ambulance had arrived, police said.
Victim Support was assisting the boy's family, and an investigation was under way.
