Final witness for Kahui due to testify today

Evidence in the Kahui murder trial is expected to wind up in the next two days.

The trial of Chris Kahui (23) charged with murdering his premature three-month-old twins Cru and Chris in June 2006, enters its sixth week in the High Court at Auckland today.

Kahui's lawyers have one more witness to call, a medical expert expected to put up a counter argument to the Crown medical view.

The Crown has argued that the babies must have suffered their injuries while Kahui was alone with them late on Monday, June 12 2006.

Kahui's team says the injuries could have occurred at another time. They say somebody else, probably their mother Macsyna King, killed the twins.

Lawyers are expected to begin summing up the Crown and defence cases this week.
