Firefighters tackle big Glen Eden blaze

More than 40 fire fighters were needed to control a big fire in the Auckland suburb of Glen Eden early today.

A northern fire communications spokesman said the fire was in a large building, about 30 metres by 30 metres.

Fire fighters were called to the building about 1.20am, but managed to bring the fire under control by about 3am.

The spokesman said some fire crews were still at the scene damping down hot spots and fire safety investigators would return later this morning.

No one was injured in the fire.
