Five injured in Auckland bus crash

Five patients, understood to be university students, have been taken to hospital after two buses collided on Auckland's North Shore this morning.

The buses collided on Taharoto Rd near Smales Farm Bus Station in Takapuna about 8.40am.

St John's paramedics transported five patients in moderate conditions to North Shore Hospital, said spokesman Robbie Walker.

An Auckland Transport spokesman said the accident happened when one bus clipped another.

He said five patients, believed to be university-aged students, were taken to hospital.

A Police spokeswoman said at least five people were being taken to hospital with minor injuries "as a precaution".

The patients were being assessed at North Shore Hospital.
