Harley rider crashes into police car

A man has been arrested after crashing his Harley-Davidson motorbike into a police car during a pursuit.

Police said the 39-year-old Gisborne man was speeding on his bike and failed to stop for police near Gisborne this morning.

When police began a pursuit, there was a "slow speed'' collision between the motorcycle and a patrol car.

The man ran off but was caught a short distance away.
