Rotorua police searching for missing man Bruce Fowler in the eastern Bay of Plenty say they have found his car.
Mr Fowler, 42, was last seen on July 14 and was believed to be in the Murupara, Minginui, Kaingaroa or Te Urewera areas after his red Nissan Lucino was spotted on State Highway 38 the following day.
Police said his vehicle was found with the help of a member of the public in an area of the Kaingaroa Forest off South Road.
A search began on Wednesday with a fixed-wing aircraft and police search and rescue staff.
Police said the search would resume this morning around the area where the car was found.
Mr Fowler is described as Caucasian with light brown hair and a ginger moustache and beard.
He is 1.9 metres tall and of solid build.
Police are appealing for public help finding him.
