A Tauranga man charged with killing 50-year-old Colin Anthony Bidois in the city last year appeared in the High Court at Rotorua today.
A psychiatric report was requested to determine whether sickness beneficiary Mark Anthony Rangi, 43, is fit to stand trial and plead.
A tentative trial date, dependent on the outcome of the psychiatric report, has been set down for February 25 in the High Court at Hamilton.
Rangi has been remanded in custody.
