A major police operation involving the armed offenders squad has come up empty after reports of a woman being injured in the Auckland suburb of Remuera.

Three nearby schools have been advised they are no longer required to be in lockdown.

Remuera Kindergarten, St Kentigern Junior School and Remuera Intermediate were placed under a precautionary lockdown this afternoon but have been advised they are no longer required to be.

Police said they received a call from a man around 12:30pm saying there was an injured woman in Woodley Ave.

Inspector Andy King from Auckland City Police said no injured people were found and there have been no other reports of any unusual behaviour.

He said they were now clearing the street.
