A two-year-old boy yesterday became the second toddler in three weeks to die after being run over in a driveway in the Northland town of Kaikohe.
The boy died in hospital after a family member backed over him and police said investigations were continuing.
The boy's name has not yet been released.
Last month, an 18-month-old boy was struck by a reversing vehicle driven by his father in the driveway of a Kaikohe house.
That incident happened about 7.40am on October 12 and the boy was airlifted to Whangarei Hospital, where he died a few hours later.
