A series of earthquakes over magnitude 5.0 has rattled the Kermadec Islands over the weekend.
The 5.0, 5.2, and two 5.4 magnitude earthquakes struck the Kermadec Islands, about 1000km northeast of Auckland, yesterday morning, the US Geological Survey said.
The four earthquakes, in the highly active seismic area, were between the depths of 15 and 30km.
