A driver has been flown to hospital after being seriously injured in a car crash this morning.
The single vehicle crash occurred on Kopuriki Rd, in an area known locally as Galatea, near Murupara in Bay of Plenty, around 7.35am.
The person was not trapped in the car, which had come off the road, but was seriously injured, northern fire communications shift manager Scott Osmond said.
The injured driver were flown to hospital by helicopter.
