Wanganui councillor escapes drugs conviction

Wanganui district councillor Jack Bullock has completed diversion and will avoid conviction over a drugs bust.

Bullock, 23, of Durie Hill, was arrested on November 22 for possessing cannabis. He was one of 17 people charged after Operation Valley, a police drugs raid in the Wanganui region.

The two term Wanganui district councillor, who did not appear in court this morning, had the cannabis charge withdrawn after the court was told he had completed diversion. One of the conditions was to compete a complete a drug and alcohol counselling course.
