Man jailed for biting off woman's nose

A British court says a man has been sentenced to five years prison for biting off part of a woman's nose.

Derby Crown Court says David Wilson pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent during the August incident in the central English town of Buxton.

Prosecutors say the 48-year-old Wilson grabbed 45-year-old Diane Fox by the throat and sunk his teeth into her face in a drunken rage.

Fox is undergoing a series of operations to reconstruct her nose. Prosecutors say the two knew each other through Fox's sister.

Wilson had turned himself in to police a day after the incident.

Judge John Burgess ordered Wilson imprisoned for five years.
