An American motorist has reached an automotive milestone, clocking up a staggering 3 million miles (almost 5 million km) in the same vehicle.
Irv Gordon took his 1966 Volvo P1800 past the incredible figure in Alaska today, Reuters reports.
The East Patchogue, New York, native was already holder of the record for highest mileage in the same vehicle before hitting the 3-million mark.
Gordon has driven about 26,000 of those miles outside of the US, in Canada and Mexico, as well as in Europe, according to Wikipedia.
He reached the 1 million mile mark in 1987, and 2 million in 2002.
