After a year’s hiatus, the Perfect Woman Competition will return to Wanaka this Labour Weekend.
The competition was postponed last year because the Wanaka Bullock Bar, which hosts the event, was sold.
Founder and competition owner Steve Burt said this year the competition would move away from a "southern girl" image to one of a more well-rounded woman.
"This year’s event will be different to what we have seen in the past few years and focus a bit more on the feminine side of the perfect woman," he said.
During the two-day competition, all contestants will be tested on practical skills such as backing a trailer, straining fence wire and making a batch of scones.
Those who make it through the final round will compete in more specialised tasks such as jet-boat driving, building a fence and domestic activities.
For all her hard work the winner will receive $1000 in prizemoney and the title of Perfect Woman 2016.
The competition also doubles as a fundraiser for the Canlive Cancer Trust which was founded by Mr Burt and his late wife, Liz.
Stonewood Homes was now the major sponsor of the event which would be known officially as The Stonewood Homes Perfect Woman Competition, Mr Burt said.
