Fiery demos entertain audience at science show

Spending your afternoon learning Newtonian physics doesn't sound like much fun . . . setting fire to things and creating clouds, though, now you are talking.

Australian science demonstrators Dr Sharon Samuel and Steven Liddell entranced Dunedin audiences over the weekend with their Big! Science! Show!, a taster of things to come in next year's New Zealand International Science Festival.

Having just taken the show to the World Science Festival in New York, Dr Samuel and Mr Liddell were on top form as they set themselves on fire, played with liquid nitrogen and tested various chemical and physical reactions, all in the name of education and entertainment.
