Te Kauwhata's luckiest man is flying to the US with his family this weekend to choose the class-1 off-road buggy of his dreams.
Trevor confirmed last night, through a spokeswoman, that he was off to California for a couple of weeks to visit car dealers because it was the "best place in the world" to shop for this type of race car.
A new off-road racing buggy has a six-figure price-tag.
When Trevor spoke to the Herald the day after he cashed his winning ticket, he said he could not begin to comprehend how he might go about spending $26,598,265 - but there would be some overseas travel ... and a race car.
"I can tell you one thing," said the racing fanatic, "my father, myself, my brother-in-law - you'll probably find us at Western Springs Speedway come this time next season driving our race car."
The spokeswoman said Trevor would ship his new car home and planned to race it when he got back - although it wouldn't be at Western Springs.
The new car he's now looking for can't be used in speedway racing, but meetings are held for them around the North Island - and Trevor plans to be at them.
The 32-year-old bachelor said he couldn't wait for the trip, after which he would be able to cross the grunty race car off his wish list.
He can add it to the $160,000 Searay dancer boat, two new vehicles including a Holden ute and three family properties he's bought.
Trevor bought his first house, in the Franklin district, for more than $2 million at the end of last month.
The two-storey three-bedroom, three-bathroom home has a large lawn and barn, with plenty of room for all his new toys.
The home is near the million-dollar-plus properties he's bought for his parents and sister.
Before his Powerball win, Trevor lived in a rental property with his flatmate in Te Kauwhata and his parents lived in West Auckland.
