Two more fruit flies found in Auckland

Two further Queensland fruit flies have been found in central Auckland, taking the toll to seven.

Two male fruit flies were detected in separate traps yesterday close the main affected property, the Auckland Council emergency management duty officer Calvin Hicks confirmed this afternoon.

About 75 staff and volunteers were assisting with specialist biosecurity advice, survey work, public education and logistics support in a bid to control the incursion.
