Ask a Chef reveals the secrets of those superb dishes you ate in cafes and restaurants and wanted to try yourself.

Port Royale vegetable tart 

Ingredients 

Base
3 cups flour
150g cold butter, cubed
dash salt
handful of cheese
¼cup nuts (whatever you prefer)

Topping
Pre-baked vegetables of your choice

Method

Place all base ingredients in a blender with a dash of water until crumbly.

Press into a deep greased tart tin.

Bake at 200degC until golden.

Top with the pre-baked vegetables and a sprinkle of cheese.

Bake for a further 10 minutes.
