They were one of nine pairs at the competition, which tested the animals’ barking volume and charisma.
Mr Sinclair said Cruise’s barking ability was ‘‘all in the breeding’’.
‘‘He’s a pretty good dog really.’’
It was the first year that the trophy was awarded, which was in memory of Bruce Duncan, who had created the event 30 years ago.
