The popular event, hosted by the Cambrian-St Bathans Rural Women, started 16 years ago with just five stalls on the town’s tennis courts, past stall convener Becs Calder said.

Now it features 55 stalls and has spread along much of the main street and village green.

News of its popularity has travelled around Canterbury, Otago and beyond, prompting people to add it to their calendars year after year.

Although the day was slightly windy, the sun made a guest appearance, giving people a good excuse to browse the stalls, enjoy some food, listen to music and play a range of games.
