‘Prima Facie’, starring Cassandra Woodhouse, is a play following a defence barrister.
The one-woman play is said to be ‘an unforgettable story’.
Written by Suzie Miller and directed by ‘‘NZ acting royalty’’ Michael Hurst, the play is said to be a ‘‘tour de force that has the power to question the structure of the legal system’’.
The play is to be shown in the Hāwea community centre on March 20 and also in Cromwell and Arrowtown at earlier dates.
The Arts on Tour NZ trust website said they are a community-focused agency with a ‘‘wealth of experience’’.
‘‘We are the pre-eminent touring agency to rural and outlying centres in New Zealand.
‘‘NZ Theatre Company is honoured to bring Prima Facie to the New Zealand stage and continue the call to action that this story is demanding worldwide,’’ it said.
Showing at 18 different locations across the country, the show prides itself in being environmentally sustainable.
‘‘Artists travel to their audiences rather than the reverse,’’ they said.
Woodhouse, playing the role of Tessa Ensler in the one-woman play, is an Auckland-based actress.
The press release said Woodhouse is a mother, actress, model and integrated nutrition health coach.
Tickets for the events can be found though the Arts on Tour website and prices may vary.
