Old Cromwell Inc officially opened the reconstructed bakehouse with help from the Central Lakes Trust at a ceremony on site yesterday morning.
Wet weather forced people inside the small bakehouse for the opening.
Stonemasons Stuart Mason and Keith Hinds deserve credit for much of the reconstruction work, which they undertook with only photographs showing the original bakehouse as a guide.
Mr Hinds, of St Bathans, said every stone, brick, and piece of wood was sourced and placed to best match the old bakehouse, which had been demolished.
"We started from scratch and in some circumstances found the right rocks from as far as St Bathans, while many of the old bricks were brought down from the Pisa Range," he said.
The work took at least two months, and only traditional materials and methods were used.
"Nothing was left over . . . we used only mud and slate with the old bricks and stone," Mr Hinds said.
Although Scott's is open, work will continue on the stone floors and the installation of an old water cylinder.
It was funded by part of a $900,000 trust grant given to Old Cromwell Inc earlier this year for restoration projects in the precinct.
