Club president Miles Koberstein said this was the first time the event had not been held in the town centre. "However, the new venue does make parking easier," he said.
Mr Koberstein said the sale is the club’s major fundraiser and all proceeds go to the Rotary Trust which makes donations to community organisations. He said they had received donations of close to 10,000 books of "amazing quality" so far. There were 32 categories in the sale and "all of them are covered", he said. Club member and co-organiser Ele Ludemann said they had raised $32,670 at close of sale on Tuesday this week.
"We think this is a bit less than the same time last year as we’ve kept prices down because we know a lot of people are stretched," she said. Bookarama is on until May 17.
