Information sought on tagger of skate park

An array of tags greeted Waimate residents on Sunday after an offender or offenders let rip with spray cans on Waimate's Salvation Army building and skate park.

Sergeant Kevin Reynolds, of Waimate, said the attack was believed to have occurred on Saturday night.

He said it appeared the offen- der or offenders used spray paint to leave stylised scrawls, focusing on the Queen St skate park and a wall of the Salvation Army building.

''It was quite a bit. It wasn't just a few letters. We're talking quite big letters all over the skate park.

''It was big stylised graffiti rather than a tag.''

The cost of cleaning up the graffiti was unknown at this stage, he said.

He urged anyone with information about the tagging to contact police.
