Kapa haka display at fundraiser fireworks

Year 2 Weston School pupil Cleo Millns (7), of Oamaru, performs with the school kapa haka group at the 16th annual Weston School Fireworks yesterday.The Weston Home and School committee fundraiser again drew a crowd of hundreds to the Weston Domain for the annual family-friendly pyrotechnics display. 

Weston principal Deidre Senior said the money raised by the home and school committee provided "the value-added extras" the school’s operational budget could not cover.

How the proceeds were spent, though, would be decided after the school’s strategic plan was rewritten in consultation with the community.
