Ploughing at Bushey

The New Zealand National ploughing finals will be held at Bushey near Palmerston next April.

Executive officer of the New Zealand Ploughing association Noel Sheat said ploughing competitors and supporters from all over New Zealand will be attending the finals on April 18 and 19.

A market day stall would be set up near the Bushey ploughing site, and the East Otago Vintage machinery club at Palmerston would also be helping with the ploughing finals.

The national ploughing finals were last held at Bushey in 2001.

Our journalists are your neighbours

We are the South's eyes and ears in crucial council meetings, at court hearings, on the sidelines of sporting events and on the frontline of breaking news.

As our region faces uncharted waters in the wake of a global pandemic, Otago Daily Times continues to bring you local stories that matter.

We employ local journalists and photographers to tell your stories, as other outlets cut local coverage in favour of stories told out of Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
