From paintings to porcelain, pottery to photography - antiques experts Hamish Walsh and Peter Wedde appraised a wide variety of items at an antiques roadshow held at St Kevins College at the weekend.

The roadshow was filmed for the third series of television programme Auction House, which features Mr Walsh and Mr Wedde.

The pair arrived at school in style, in Keith Perry's 1947 Mercury car, and jumped out to discover a piece of Victorian glassware on sale for $5 at a car boot sale held in conjunction with the event.

One of the finds of the weekend was a H.G. Ponting photograph of the ship Terra Nova at Ross Island which was valued at between $6000 and $7000.

The event was organised by St Kevins College Home and School committee and chair woman Julie O'Connor was delighted with its success.
