Arrowtown cleanup

Environment-minded residents are invited to join Nomad Safaris guides on a mission to clean up Arrowtown.

The scenic tour operator has organised its traditional "Wild Rubbish Afternoon" during the Arrowtown Autumn Festival.

Some of the drivers will meet volunteers behind the Lakes District Museum, on Wednesday, May 4, at 1.30pm. Their intention will be to spend a couple of hours picking up rubbish around the village, Nomad Safaris tour guide Fran O'Connor said yesterday.

If anyone wants a lift out to Arrowtown, they would need to be at the depot, on the corner of Gorge Rd and Industrial Pl, by 1pm. Ms O'Connor asked volunteers to ring ahead, on (03) 442-6699, so the Land Rovers did not leave without them.
