One of the resort's helicopter companies has been recognised for its safety operations, receiving the New Zealand Helicopter Association international operator safety award last week.
Over The Top has qualified annually since 1999, the only New Zealand company to do so.
The 2012 award is the 30th they have received.
The worldwide awards are to acknowledge the safe operation of helicopters and promote programmes to encourage professionalism.
Over The Top chief executive Louisa Patterson has operated the company for 26 years and is delighted with the accomplishment.
She said her team's commitment to safety and excellence had been a top priority since the company started in 1986.
