A Racing helmet signed by Formula 1 driver Jensen Button and a framed steering wheel signed by former world champion F1 driver Lewis Hamilton will be going under the hammer in Queenstown tomorrow night during the Queenstown Auto Extravaganza.

Committee chairman Miles Wilson said other auction highlights included a framed and signed All Black jersey from the current squad and a framed, full-sized guitar, signed by AC/DC band members.

"It's just incredible to secure these items," he said.

"They will be highly sought after and they're a great fundraising opportunity for the foundation."

The auction would take place between performances by Mike Frost and the Icemen at the Blues Party Night in the Queenstown Memorial Hall tomorrow night. Proceeds would go to the New Zealand Prostate Cancer Foundation.

Those who are unable to attend the auction can place a bid online before the auction at www.queenstowncarshow.co.nz

The three-day auto extravaganza begins today with an evening car cruise to a "mystery photographic location".

The What's in your Garage? outdoor public car show will be held tomorrow alongside Queenstown's first indoor Salon of Style NZ Motor racing exhibition at the Queenstown Events Centre.

After tomorrow night's party and auction, the extravaganza will draw to a close on Sunday with the Eighth Mile Car Sprint in Dalefield, where some of the biggest and fastest cars from the show will face off.
