Delta deal 'consolidates' 50 jobs

A long-term partnership between Delta Utility Services and Jacks Point Ltd has "consolidated" up to 50 jobs in Queenstown, the company says.

Delta's chief executive Grady Cameron yesterday announced the partnership, which will see the company provide estate management services to the new Jacks Point township, on State Highway 6 south of Frankton.

Delta had also been appointed as the preferred contractor for all future development work at the site, which includes a golf course along with a township with a projected population of more than 6000 people once completed.

Mr Cameron said the agreement was "a genuine and timely good-news story, especially for Delta's employees".

It includes providing daily services such as power supply, water, roading, sewage and rubbish removal.

Jacks Point Ltd developer John Darby said the move was another major step forward for the new town in which more than $100 million had already been invested.
