Disc golf course playable

Disc golf enthusiasts in Wanaka now have the option of playing on a temporary course set up at Lismore Park as efforts to raise funds for an official course continue.

Wanaka Disc Golf Club president Martin Galley said committee members recently installed a makeshift course at the park, using railway sleepers and circular copper discs to identify tees and targets.

"The course is playable at the moment. There are basic tees and all the targets are marked with numbers." The club was seeking funding to cover the estimated $20,000 it would cost to build the official course around Lismore Park, Mr Galley said.
