Jacks Point is being hailed a success as the new venue for the 2010 Outside Sports Classic Kids End of School Triathlon, formerly held at Frankton.

Sport Central regional sports co-ordinator Bill Godsall said 170 primary school pupils took part in the sixth annual triathlon, with about 500 attending overall from around the district.

"It went really, really well - I think most of the parents are happy with the new venue," he said.

Contestants ranging in age from 5 to 12 ran, swam and cycled among the golf course's greens, bunkers and water hazards in refreshing overcast conditions
