Blanket Bay luxury lodge.
At the 2009 Hotel Management (HM) Awards, for hotel and accommodation excellence, held in Sydney recently, Blanket Bay was named New Zealand's best regional property.
General manager Philip Jenkins said the award was a tribute to the lodge's staff.
"Consistency of service is what makes the difference, plus an exclusive luxury product that is based upon the principles of sustainable and responsible tourism," he said.
Built in 1999, Blanket Bay has been a consistent award winner.
The HM awards received more than 650 entries and resulted in more than 1200 people, departments, properties and chains being nominated across Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and selected South Pacific nations.
