Glenorchy luxury lodge Blanket Bay has been named as one of the world's best resorts in the Forbes Traveler Top 400 lists.
Blanket Bay manager Philip Jenkins accepted the award in Cannes at the International Luxury Travel Show in December.
The Forbes Traveler 400 Review 2008 was assembled by a panel of travel professionals.
Described as "more than just a list" by Forbes Traveler, the resource seeks to provide readers with a wide range of the best places to stay - but does not rank them.
Writers who had been to the properties but had not accepted a complimentary stay were recruited to give an honest review.
