NZSki is remaining tight-lipped about whether the price of next ski season's lift passes will rise after steep ACC levy hikes.
NZSki Ltd chief executive James Coddington said the company would release the 2010 prices in the second week of February.
He said the company was disappointed by the ACC's decision to increase its levies by 80% to about $600,000.
Meanwhile, the summer maintenance programmes at Coronet Peak and the Remarkables were "on track".
Replacing the Meadows chairlift on Coronet Peak's learners' slope was under way.
"We are in the process of earthworks and construction should start in February," Mr Coddington said.
The company has consent to install a new four-seater chairlift to replace the existing two-seater lift.
Recruitment has started for returning staff, which was usually about 600 (60%) of the skifields' workforce.
The remaining 400 staff would be recruited through advertising between the end of February and April 1.
Mr Coddington welcomed Air New Zealand's decision to increase the number of flights between Australia and New Zealand for the coming ski season.
"All our marketing efforts have been very much directed at the Australian market. We are confident of a strong season this year off the back of a fantastic season last year," he said.
