TODAY
7pm: Singer, pianist and trumpet player Alastair Monteath plays jazz and blues classics in the Friday Jazz Club in Les Alpes. Free.

10pm: DJs Downtown Brown and Turbohag select hip-hop, drum 'n' bass and drumstep tunes in Subculture. Free before midnight.

TOMORROW
3pm: Gore-born and Austin, Texas-based singer and songwriter Jackie Bristow plays her original alt-country roots rock at Waitiri Creek Winery, Gibbston. Tickets cost $25 per person and bookings are essential.

8pm: Reach Out for the Memorial Hall boasts three acts of live national calibre music and comedy entertainment in aid of the hall's timely upgrade. Theatre-style mezzanine seats were still available for $59 cash only on the door.

10pm: DJs Turbohag and D-Jade deliver hip-hop, glitch, drum 'n' bass and dubstep for Subsonic in Subculture. Free before midnight.

WEDNESDAY
8pm: Country-folk artist Mel Parsons, who was born and raised on the West Coast, sings and actresses Amelia Guild and Emma Newborn perform their own hilarious theatrical take of life on the farm in The Bitches' Box and Mel Parsons' Woolshed Tour in the Remarkables Park Red Barn, Frankton. Tickets $33 plus booking fee at Eventfinder online; limited door sales $40 from 7pm.

THURSDAY
7pm
: The Wellington International Ukulele Orchestra makes its Queenstown debut in the Memorial Hall. The music-comedy collective features up to a dozen ukuleles and a double bass playing crowd-pleasing rock and pop favourites. Tickets cost $38 plus booking fee. Doors open 6.30pm.
