Positions filled for 'Superstar'

Showbiz Queenstown has announced the heads of department recruited to help bring Jesus Christ Superstar to life and a meeting tonight to reveal all about the rock opera production.

Marty Newell, who starred in the 1999 show, directs and designs the sets in the musical composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber and written by Tim Rice.

Other positions are: Hamish Oliver (musical director), Margaret O'Hanlon (vocal coach), Bryan Aitken (artistic consultant), Hilary Finnie and Greg Thompson (production managers), Tom Lynch (technical director), Dave Spark (lighting designer), Tom Lynch (sound designer), James Stephenson (repetiteur), Jan Maxwell (wardrobe manager) and Ella Wilson (make-up manager).

The choreographer, stage manager and the hair and wigs manager were to be confirmed.

A pre-audition meeting for everyone who wants to find out more about the show, the audition process and the vision of the director, will be held in the Showbiz Queenstown Rooms, Isle St, today at 7.30pm.

Auditions are scheduled to be held on February 14-16. The show runs in the Queenstown Memorial Centre from May 15-24.
