Police are waiting for a report from the serious crash unit before deciding what, if any, charges will be laid in relation to a fatal crash on State Highway 6 near Queenstown last month.
Detective Grant Miller, of Queenstown, said the 18-year-old male driver of one of the vehicles involved had no recollection of the incident that killed 76-year-old Cromwell woman Jennifer Claire Scott on July 31.
The teenager, who is originally from Auckland but has been living in Queenstown, was transferred to Southland Hospital with serious injuries after the crash, which happened about 300m west of the Lake Hayes Estate turn-off on a straight stretch of road.
Det Miller said the man had internal injuries as well as injuries to his legs and a bruised shoulder.
