Spire purchased

The owners of Eichardt's Private Hotel have acquired another luxury CBD accommodation business in the resort.

Eichardt's general manager James Cavanagh announced last night that the hotel's owners, Andrew and Sarah Cox of Imperium Capital Group, have acquired The Spire Hotel, on Church Lane, as of eight days ago.

The Spire, comprising 10 rooms, a bar and a restaurant, has been owned for the past three and a-half years by sisters Lucy and Amelia Gain.

Mr Cavanagh said The Spire Hotel name would remain but its food and beverage operation would be revamped under the guidance of Eichardt's House Bar head chef Will Eaglesfield.

Tariffs will probably range from $500 a night to $1000 at peak season, Mr Cavanagh said.

''All bookings already in place will be honoured as we make this seamless transition from the existing owners.''

The Spire was set up in 1995 while Eichardt's Private Hotel was established when the historic Eichardt's Hotel was transformed after the 1999 flood. Eichardt's Private Hotel has added a separate private residence and lake front apartments to its rooms inventory.
