Wakatipu youngsters and their best friends can sing their hearts out in a duet for Sticky TV when the popular show's Sticky Stars Karaoke rolls into Queenstown, on December 5 and 6.

The Sticky TV caravan, decked out with the latest in karaoke equipment, orange padded walls and a mirror ball will be stationed on Earnslaw Park, from 1.30pm to 6.30pm.

Sticky TV executive producer Mary Phillips said in a statement youngsters and a friend aged between 10 and 16 could compete to become the 2011 Sticky Stars Karaoke champions, have the chance to appear on Sticky TV and fly to Auckland for the finals.

"I didn't think it would be as fabulous as it is," Ms Phillips said.

"It's the young people who star - the positivity, the belief in themselves. It's about young people challenging themselves to try something new, having fun and giving karaoke a go.

"Everyone has come out of the caravan with a smile and an obvious heightened confidence."

Contestants can visit the Sticky TV website for details and a talent release form for a parent or guardian to sign.
