Tori Keating may be one of Queenstown's staunchest Wallabies fans.

She will probably be pretty easy to spot at Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin tonight.

Among a sea of black, Ms Keating will be decked out in her supporter's kit: a bright yellow top hat, bright yellow wig, Australian head band, Aussie tattoos, fake green eyelashes, false nails with the Australian flag on them (she has a spare set, just in case), Australian-themed boxer shorts to pop over some appropriately coloured tights, ''thongs'' (to clarify, she means jandals), an Aussie-decorated stubbie holder, an Australian flag, and a giant Australian-themed hand.

Her husband, Malcolm Mackay - a fierce All Blacks supporter - may be sitting with her at the game (his outfit: an All Blacks jersey), but he was going to make her walk a few steps behind him to minimise his embarrassment.

The couple have been together for 13 years and married for six, so they are used to the banter that goes with a transtasman stoush on the rugby field.

But, for them, that banter seems to be constant.

Ms Keating said her husband once sold her Wallabies jersey online.

''His brother ended up buying it and giving it back to me.''

Her 30th birthday was a ''Bad Taste'' party - ''he rocked up in my Australian rugby jersey'', she said.

Mr Mackay said the only time he would ever support the Wallabies was if they were playing England, or ``if we need them to beat the South Africans''.

He was absolutely adamant tonight his wife would be disappointed - again. He predicted the final score would be 28-15 in favour of the boys in black

Ms Keating, while ever hopeful, tended to agree.

``I'm an optimist, but I'm also a realist.''
