Call for help after alcohol stolen

Queenstown police are asking for the public’s help to identify two men thought to be responsible for stealing alcohol from a beer garden behind a suburban cafe-restaurant.

Queenstown police area response manager Senior Sergeant Glenn Wilkinson said CCTV images posted on the Southern District Police Facebook page showed the pair helping themselves to alcohol from an outdoor shelter at 11th Avenue by Frank’s, between Lake Hayes Estate and Shotover Country.

The burglaries occurred about 2.45am on Sunday and 2.20am last Wednesday.

He understood there had previously been similar burglaries at the beer garden.

Police wanted to speak to anyone who might know the identities of the two men, Snr Sgt Wilkinson said.
