Hotel says ‘buon appetito’

The hotel chain behind Queenstown’s Holiday Inn, above Frankton Rd, has turned its lake-facing dining venue into an Italian restaurant, Grazie, following the "roaring success" of its first outlet in Wellington’s Lower Hutt.

Sarin Hotels, which owns/operates eight New Zealand hotels, opened Queenstown’s Grazie last month.

Marketing manager Aishwarya Taukari says they’re happy with trade so far.

"The town has been warm to us.

"We feel this region needs a little bit of Italian flavour, and Italian food, as such, gets communities together ... to wine, dine and share."

She notes their kitchen staff have been trained to prepare Italian dishes and are also making their pasta and dough in-house.

Taukari also believes the views from the restaurant are a selling point.
